Team Moms: We’ve got you covered

Other than the coaches, youth teams rely on other leaders to help manage the flow of communication, flow of children, and the flow of Gatorade. The Team Mom is an essential person to a well organized team.

Team Moms are a great asset to the coaches and managers. Leaving them to be able to focus on teaching the kids the fundamentals of the sport, the coaches know that the Team Moms are there taking care of the off-field tasks.

AllPlayers.com has become an essential tool for many Team Moms. Here is how the Team Moms have been using the various features:

Registration:

  • By having the parents/guardians sign themselves up along with their children, the Team Mom knows that she has an active list of all participants
  • Having grandparents, siblings, and friends sign up as a “Fan” they too can get updates and see all of the activities of the group
  • With the registration forms, Team Moms have a active and updated list uniform sizes, preferred numbers, and more.

Calendar:

  • Easily add events to the team calendar and if the team is a part of a larger league (sub group) all of the events on the calendar are combined and displayed in one place fore everyone to see

Communicate:

  • Team Moms love this feature. They can send a Broadcast Message (via text or email) to each participant and know the important information is getting delivered. This feature is used for uniform reminders, field and location changes, and last minute updates.
  • Using the Announcement feature, Team Moms can post recent announcements on that may not be as urgent on the home page.

File Sharing:

  • Upload and share files that the league makes available and/or asks for team-wide distribution. This saves on printing costs, cuts down on waste and helps your team be “green”.
Photo Sharing:
  • All group members can update the photo albums and share their special memories. The Team Mom can use this as a scrapbook for the team’s history and progression.

Custom Content Boxes:

  • Create custom content boxes to share any information such as tournament information. You don’t have to be a HTML guru to create customization, AllPlayers.com makes it easy!!

By using AllPlayers.com to help organize their teams, Team Moms help the coaches and managers keep the kids, parents and other participants updated on all important details of the team!!!

Dear AllPlayers: oh how we love to hear good things

Below is taken from an email we received from a team mom who volunteers for her daughter’s soccer team and softball team.  We really like to receive these emails, considering how loose some people can be with their “constructive” criticisms of things like color usage, we want to shout these compliments from the rooftops. And since we don’t have rooftop access to our office building in Irving and nobody on staff is willing to take risks of outdoor window climbing like Tom Cruise in MI:4, we’ll spread our accolades the old fashioned way.

Hi AllPlayers,

I am a team mom for my daughter’s soccer team and this year volunteered to help out new her softball team. I just got back from an introduction meeting for the softball team moms. I’ve gotten used to her soccer league and head coach sending emails and updates through Allplayers, and at this softball meeting I realized how disorganized leagues are. The league had no idea when the schedule was going to be announced because they were still trying to work it out, they weren’t even sure how they were going to tell the teams or parents when the schedule was finalized – send an email to all coaches, all parents..? Also for forms and picture orders they gave each team one photocopied form and told us we had to go make copies to hand out to each player.  And for weather days, we were told to check their web site first, and if it wasn’t updated check the Facebook page, and if it wasn’t updated call the league’s phone number.

With our soccer team, the schedule was announced on our team page, the coach sent us emails, we could check the team page whenever we wanted for all updates, our team and individual photo order forms are available for us to download ourselves and being team mom is fun. I get to actually do stuff for the players instead of be a secretary.

I mentioned that the softball league should look into AllPlayers, and they said they’d heard of it but they were in contract with the scheduling tool and web site they’d been using for a few years but were going to check you guys out again to see if they do both. I hope they can.

Thanks
